SUMMARY
As part of the Client Service Representative Team, you will help set the tone for the practice as we build and maintain each customer's trust and confidence in our abilities. You must be a self-starter with a strong attention to detail, able to work in a fast-paced environment, handle difficult cases and clients, and have outstanding communication skills.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Captures and reviews daily charges from the Electrical Medical Records via WoofWare, ensuring standard coding and billing guidelines are followed correctly.
- Communicates effectively and respectfully, both in verbal and written form, with providers or clinical staff to obtain missing or incomplete information and update owners regarding finances.
- Provides treatment plans for inpatient and outpatient diagnostics, procedures, and hospitalization in a timely manner.
- Accurately posts all payments paid at the time of service to the patient’s account.
- Audits and balances daily payment totals to treatment/s received or being received to a patient.
- Reviews and finalizes patient accounts prior to the close of the work day, with time permitting.
- Maintains professional and courteous relationships with all team members at all times.
- Must have predictable and consistent attendance and follow all attendance and lunch policies.
- Alerts department manager of any issues needing further research.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Maintains strong knowledge of veterinary medicine and veterinary terminology, as well as various VCA coding and billing guidelines.
- Utilizes the correct coding initiative when billing for multiple services during the same encounter.
- Informs Patient owners, Doctors, and various support staff when additional account balance reviews are needed.
- Researches financial rejections and works cooperatively with appropriate staff to resolve discrepancies.
- IE Helps the client apply for Care Credit.
- Utilizes various coding and billing references to resolve complex billing scenarios.
- Demonstrates a commitment to expand coding & billing knowledge by participating in various continuing education opportunities each year.
- Demonstrates a positive willingness to take on additional assignments and responsibilities.
- Assists CSRs and other Coordinators when needed.

PAYMENT
$18 - $20/hour. Compensation is negotiable based on education, experience, and other relevant credentials. $2/hr shift differential available for weekend and later hours.
SCHEDULE
This is an OVERNIGHT position. Starting times for this position will be 7p or later.
