Client Service Representative

Responsibilities

• Greet visitors, answer telephones, and guide clients and their pets to exam rooms
• Schedule and confirm appointments
• Place outbound calls for follow-ups and reach out to prospective clients
• Present and explain fees, including processing payments
• Recommend, select, and obtain products and services, including prescriptions
• Answer questions regarding products and services, including educating clients on general animal husbandry and non-medical pet care (e.g., heartworm prevention, housebreaking, flea & tick control)
• Manage medical records, charts, reports, and correspondence

Requirements

• Customer service experience required; veterinary experience a plus
• High school diploma/GED or equivalent
• Excellent listening and communication skills
• Compassion for pets and people, with awareness and understanding of others’ reactions
• Proven decision-making skills to choose the most appropriate course of action
• Ability to integrate new information into problem-solving
• Schedule flexibility to include Saturdays and evenings
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Willingness to be exposed to hazards associated with pets (e.g., allergies, contagious diseases, noises, odors, bites, scratches, and animal waste)

Pay

Hourly pay range: $18–$21
