Responsibilities

  • Develop sound relationships with customers, acting as a liaison between company and customer.
  • Identify maintenance and service needs. Communicate with customers during repairs and coordinate customer pick-up.
  • Prepare itemized work orders, including parts, costs, and labor. Travel off-site for boat inspection and estimates.
  • Maintain work orders in ERP/MRP system.
  • Work with supervisors/leaders to schedule workforce and equipment. Provide detailed work orders for yard operations, including delivery/commitment dates.
  • Ensure quality control by performing inspections and verifications of job tasks prior to billing and vessel departures. Maintain and monitor service jobs in process and obtain customer approval for growth work or scope change.
  • Promote the sale of additional services, parts, and accessories in a professional manner. Assist in general sales for boat shows and other marketing events.

Requirements

  • Experience: Three (3) to five (5) years of experience working in a revenue-generating service position.
  • Certifications: Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Qualifications: Prior experience selling technical services or luxury goods/services. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret blueprints, drawings, and technical information. Experience in estimating boat repairs, hours of labor, and costs. Ability to generate financial reports and contracts. Proficient in Microsoft Word and Excel. Previous boatyard/shipyard experience preferred.
