Client Relationship Executive - Chicago & Midwest Region
About the role
CrossCountry Consulting is one of the fastest-growing professional services firms in the country, and Chicago is an important Tier 1 growth market. We are looking for a seasoned, exceptionally well-networked Client Relationship Executive to join our Chicago team and help shape and build the firm’s presence across the Chicago and Midwest Region.
Responsibilities
- Build and convert a pipeline of new client relationships across Chicago and the Midwest — developing trusted relationships within the Office of the CFO, with Private Equity sponsors, and at the C-suite and board level, and working collaboratively with CrossCountry’s practice leaders and delivery teams to convert opportunities into engagements.
- Leverage your network across the CFO, Controller, finance leadership, board, and Private Equity communities to position CrossCountry as the go-to advisory partner in the Chicago and Midwest market.
- Develop, nurture, and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers at target companies — including C-Suite, controllers, finance leadership, board members, Private Equity sponsors, and centers of influence.
- Proactively engage your network — including audit partners, service providers, professional associations, and industry forums — to drive business development and generate pipeline.
- Plan and execute unique, high-impact business development networking events that build CrossCountry’s brand and presence in the Chicago market.
- Develop and implement a comprehensive client relationship strategy, coordinating internal and external resources to optimize CrossCountry’s position across the Chicago and Midwest market.
- Collaborate with leaders across all service lines to craft and execute targeted go-to-market strategies aligned with the firm’s relationship-centric and AI-enabled approach.
- Track and report on pipeline performance, providing regular updates to firm leadership on activity, opportunities, and revenue forecast.
Requirements
- 10+ years of demonstrated success in business development and client relationship management, with a proven track record of selling within professional services, consulting, staffing, or software to the Office of the CFO.
- Exceptional, well-established professional network across the Chicago and Midwest region — with trusted, senior-level relationships spanning the Office of the CFO, C-suite, board members, and Private Equity sponsors at mid-market and enterprise companies.
- Demonstrated track record of identifying, developing, and closing significant new client relationships — working collaboratively with delivery leaders and practice experts to win.
- Knowledge of the business development and client relationship cycle — including sales planning, lead generation, pipeline management, account planning, and go-to-market strategy.
- Comfortable operating in a fast-moving, technology-enabled environment — curious about how AI and emerging solutions are reshaping the advisory landscape and the Office of the CFO.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams and with all levels of the firm.
- Excellent presentation, verbal, and written communication skills.
- Creative, self-confident, and flexible.
- An entrepreneurial spirit and excitement around building something meaningful in a high-growth market.
- A great sense of humor required!
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree preferred, but not required.
- Experience: Minimum of 10 years of relevant experience.
- Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, ability to build and maintain relationships, and a proven track record of client acquisition and retention.
