Client Operations I Analyst III
About the role
The Derivatives Settlements team provides critical operational support to multiple lines of business. This role is critical for ensuring the accurate and timely settlement of derivative-related cash flows, performing reconciliations, investigating exceptions, and serving as a key point of contact for internal stakeholders, clients, counterparties, and market infrastructure partners.
Responsibilities
- Manage settlement of counterparty payments for bilateral and cleared derivatives activity using core platforms including Summit, Wall Street Systems, Treasury Edge, and Nexen.
- Perform Level 2 reconciliations of interest rate derivative cash activity, as well as positions and trades related to futures business cleared through Citibank as Futures Commission Merchant (FCM).
- Investigate and resolve cash, trade, and position breaks in partnership with internal business teams and external counterparties.
- Respond promptly to client and counterparty inquiries related to cash flow payments, settlements, and trade discrepancies.
- Act as a primary contact for cleared swaps and futures related inquiries with key market infrastructure partners, including London Clearing House (LCH) and Citibank Global Markets Inc.
- Support operational risk reduction through strong control execution, issue identification, and timely escalation where appropriate.
- Aid in system enhancements, process improvement initiatives, system testing, and operational procedures.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will bring knowledge of derivatives operations and settlement processes, strong analytical and reconciliation skills, and the ability to manage inquiries and exceptions in a fast-paced market environment. Experience supporting cleared and bilateral swap and futures products, along with the ability to work across multiple stakeholders and systems, is highly valued. Candidate should possess a minimum of 2+ years of relevant Operations & Financial Services experience.
Qualifications
Minimum qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Experience supporting cleared and bilateral swap and futures products.
- Strong analytical and reconciliation skills.
- Ability to manage inquiries and exceptions in a fast-paced market environment.
- Minimum of 2+ years of relevant Operations & Financial Services experience.
