About the role
This role manages a mid to large size portfolio, including complex credits, with a secondary focus on selling deeper into the customer relationship. The position involves growing revenue, partnering with other officers, and maintaining portfolio credit quality while ensuring excellent client relations.
Responsibilities
- Grow revenue as directed by senior management to meet established goals by prospecting new opportunities with existing clients and making appropriate referrals.
- Partner with other officers to effectively administer the management of assigned commercial banking relationships.
- Maintain portfolio by calling on existing customers to expand business, ensure excellent client relations, and proper servicing of accounts while maintaining credit quality.
- Provide recurring customer service to existing and prospective clients through joint sales calls, direct correspondence, and proactive cross-selling of bank products.
- Serve as a conduit for all product lines, matching client needs with appropriate products.
- Proactively identify cross-selling opportunities on bank products.
- Interpret policies/procedures, loan contracts, credit reports, financial statements, and loan documents.
- Perform various projects/tasks with an emphasis on maintaining UMB TUCE (Trust, Understanding, Collaboration, Excellence).
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, or equivalent experience in a related field.
- 8+ years of commercial banking or lending experience, including credit underwriting.
- Expert knowledge of credit and underwriting processes.
- Strong financial acumen and ability to interpret loan contracts, credit reports, and financial statements.
- Expertise in identifying and processing maturing loans, line renewals, term loan extensions, loan restructuring, and approval processes.
- Ability to interpret policies/procedures and manage time effectively.
- Strong prospecting, networking, and analytical skills.
Skills
- Self-starter with initiative and strong communication skills (verbal and written).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Pay
Compensation range: $141,354 – $207,900. The posted range represents UMB’s good faith and reasonable estimate based on its budget and expectations for the role. Actual compensation may vary by geographic location, experience level, and other job-related factors.
