Client Funds Accounting Specialist

About the role
The Client Funds Accounting Specialist is responsible for reconciling all client-held funds accounts for Paylocity. This role involves monitoring and reconciling multiple bank accounts and resolving any discrepancies or issues.
Responsibilities
- Perform daily bank reconciliation for payroll, tax, and benefit accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial transactions.
- Review and validate financial transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and other bank-related activities.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies between bank statements and cash balance accounts, including outstanding items.
- Monitor daily/weekly cash balances by client and across the total client base to ensure timely remittances and proper recording of cash collections.
- Make adjustments to cash as indicated by reports.
- Collaborate with internal partners to coordinate system fixes as needed.
- Work with the bank on returned items and inquiries.
- Report payroll, tax, and benefit exceptions to partners for review and resolution.
- Reconcile incoming wires/ACHs for payroll and tax accounts.
- Review and reconcile client credits.
- Provide proof of payments to the Tax Department.
- Assist with monthly financial reconciliations.
- Monitor incoming CFA team email accounts and ensure timely responses.
- Provide suggestions and write procedures to enhance overall processes.
- Work toward continued process improvement.
- Assist with new business initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in finance or accounting.
- 2-5+ years' experience in payroll service or banking operations strongly desired.
- Experience with MasterTax, WEX, or CobraPoint is a plus.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Strong team and individual work ethic.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in MS applications, including Excel and Access.
- High level of integrity.
Schedule
This is a fully remote position (U.S. only), allowing you to work from home or your location of record within the U.S. You must be available five days per week during designated work hours. The work arrangement is subject to change based on business needs and individual performance.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to sit for extended periods, typically 7-8 hours a day.
- Ability to operate a computer, use phone systems, and type, including using multiple software programs and inquiries simultaneously.
Pay
The hourly pay range for this position is $20.00 to $24.00 per hour. Base pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is also eligible for an annual bonus and restricted stock unit grant based on individual performance, in addition to a full range of benefits.
