About the Role
Our client is seeking a Client Accounts Specialist to join a collaborative and client-focused accounting team. This role serves as a key liaison between clients, attorneys, and internal departments, helping resolve payment issues and improve collection performance. The ideal candidate will bring strong collections experience, excellent communication skills, and the ability to professionally represent the organization while managing sensitive client relationships.

Compensation
$25-$28/hour
Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary point of contact for collection-related inquiries and requests.
- Manage assigned attorney portfolios, including monitoring and resolving aged receivables, credit balances, and unbilled work.
- Conduct proactive outreach to clients via email, phone, and written correspondence to resolve outstanding balances and payment issues.
- Work closely with attorneys, assistants, and internal business partners to improve collection realization.
- Communicate collection trends, delinquent accounts, and at-risk receivables to leadership.
- Partner with the Billing team to resolve auditing discrepancies, reconciliation issues, and escalated concerns.
- Research account activity and identify solutions to complex payment challenges.
- Maintain accurate account records and documentation of collection efforts.
- Assist with onboarding and training new team members.
- Support special projects and departmental initiatives as needed.
Requirements
- 2-5 years of collections experience.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial processes.
- Knowledge of collection strategies and financial reconciliation practices.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Professional, collaborative, and customer-focused approach with the ability to confidently represent the organization to clients.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a deadline-driven environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business discipline.
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, and Pivot Tables.
- Experience with legal eBilling platforms such as BillBlast or similar systems.
- 1-2 years of experience as a Client Accounts Representative within a legal or professional services environment.
- B2B and/or C2C collections experience.
