Clerk - Retail Receiving

About the Role

A Day In The Life As a Receiver / Inventory Control Clerk (ICC), you will oversee all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations, ensuring that all merchandise delivered to the store is checked, accounted for, and brought out to the floor. You will walk the entire store daily to scan DSD and address areas of under or over ordering and/or out of stock conditions. Your role involves communicating with the Store Director, order writers, night crew employees, merchandisers, and the File Maintenance Clerk. You will be knowledgeable about weekly ads and DSD displays, monitor donations, and be responsible for grocery and non-perishable inventories. Additionally, you will maintain backroom security, cleanliness, and organization, ensuring all equipment works properly.

Responsibilities

• Oversee all Direct Store Delivery (DSD) operations.
• Check and account for all merchandise delivered to the store and bring it to the sales floor.
• Walk the store daily to scan DSD and address under/over ordering or out-of-stock conditions.
• Communicate with Store Director, order writers, night crew, merchandisers, and File Maintenance Clerk.
• Monitor weekly ads and DSD displays.
• Manage donations and grocery/non-perishable inventories.
• Maintain backroom security, cleanliness, and organization.
• Ensure all equipment is functioning properly.
• Monitor damaged, expired, or salvageable merchandise and process returns for credit.

Requirements

• Prior customer service skills or related experience.
• Ability to maintain cleanliness, security, and organization of the backroom area.
• Attention to detail for monitoring merchandise and returns.
• Basic computer knowledge, including email, Excel, and store portal.
• Problem-solving skills to work independently and make decisions.
• Strong communication skills to interact with vendors, delivery drivers, customers, co-workers, and management.

• Ability to lift/carry 5-50 lbs.
• Ability to push/pull 10-50 lbs products.
• Ability to stand/walk continuously.
