About the role
The Receptionist acts as the primary point of communication for the school, handling all internal and external customers who call or visit the main office. This role also provides clerical support to Division Heads.
Responsibilities
- Answer phones to receive and transmit communications, including recording call details, messages, and routing them appropriately (may include radio broadcast messages).
- Facilitate and direct all emergency calls as outlined in the Crisis Plan.
- Serve as the teacher/maintenance liaison for radio dispatch.
- Receive and direct students, parents, and guests to the appropriate office or location.
- Act as the parent/teacher liaison for collecting homework for students on long-term absences.
- Assist with new student registration packets.
- Provide clerical support, including typing, copying, and filing.
- Carry out other duties as assigned by Division Heads.
- Act as the primary contact for admitting and exiting people from the building entrance near the main office.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or its equivalent.
- Bilingual (English and Spanish) strongly preferred.
Skills
- Ability to communicate effectively and accurately, both orally and in writing, in English and Spanish (strongly preferred).
- Ability to perform all duties and responsibilities of the position.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external constituents.
- Ability to work independently, stay on task, multi-task, and complete assigned projects and duties in a timely and efficient manner.
