Clerk - Outpatient

Job Summary

By working directly with patients and physicians the role will ensure patient scheduling, preparation, registration, and requisition management is accurate and complete.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate internal and external communication
• Communicate with patients and physicians
• Perform other clerical functions as required

Qualifications And Experience

• Grade 12 education preferred or equivalent as recognized by the Province on Ontario, Ministry of Education
• Office Administration Certificate preferred
• Hospital office administration experience preferred
• Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology required
• Current experience with Meditech is an asset

Skills And Abilities

• Demonstrated computer literacy with Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook and Excel)
• Accurate keyboarding skills (minimum 50 wpm)
• Proven proficiency in registration system software and booking functions
• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills
• Demonstrated appreciation and respect for protocol, professionalism, confidentiality and attention to detail
• Superior organizational skills and an ability to prioritize the workload and multi-task
• Ability to work efficiently independently and in a teamwork environment

Hours of Work

Monday to Friday. Weekend work may be required as needed.
