Position Summary

The Warehouse Clerk is responsible for verifying and keeping records on incoming and outgoing shipments and completing them daily.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

  • Compares identifying information and counts, and weights against all incoming and outgoing shipments to verify information against bills of lading, orders, or other records.
  • Schedules receiving appointments.
  • Examines incoming Receiving paperwork for required information (I.E. code dates, mfg dates, etc.).
  • Prints out shipping pick lists using Excel sheets and verify inventory in the system first for complete FEFO accuracy.
  • Routes paperwork to department personnel.
  • Double checks all inbound and outbound paperwork for accuracy before keying information into the system. Includes making sure all pick list, trailer map sheets, are turned in with every load.
  • Prints out all BOL’s for outbound shipment and applies the seal number and signature with every load.
  • Maintains all paperwork in a neat organized manner to include all load paperwork together to be scanned into D365 when processing has been completed.
  • Maintains both shipping and receiving compliance logs daily for accuracy.
  • Must cross train in all areas of the office to keep it as efficient and responsive to our customer needs as possible.
  • Promotes a safe work environment through training and implementation.
  • Suggest changes in the working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of department or team.
  • Ensures that all work activities are performed with attention to the highest standards for quality, safety, and compliance with all appropriate legal and food safety requirements and a focus on continuous improvement.
  • Ensures that all Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s) are followed.
  • Follows all company policies & procedures as well as the GMP’s (Good Manufacturing Practices).
  • Maintains a high level of safety awareness for an accident-free work place.
  • Reports any unsafe or hazardous work conditions or safety related issues to Management.
  • Other duties as assigned by management.

  • Computer: Should understand general workings of a PC and be able to utilize Word and Excel programs.

  • Analytical: Ability to visualize, articulate, solve both complex and uncomplicated problems and concepts, and make decisions that make sense.
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively with a variety of diverse individuals within the plant and corporate environments.
  • Ability to compute by adding, subtracting and averaging numbers.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, correlate, and present data.
  • Ability to work independently and as a team
  • Perform cycle counts
  • Ability to become forklift certified
  • Ability to work under deadlines
  • Adaptability: The ability to understand, accept and embrace change is necessary for the development of the department.

Physical Requirements

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tool, or controls; reach with hands and arms.
  • The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 20 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and ability to adjust focus.
