Clerk II (Office Support Specialist)
About the role
This position is located at the Law Enforcement Center in the Winona County Sheriff's Office. The successful applicant will provide essential support functions to the Sheriff's Office and serve as the first point of contact for visitors to the Winona County Law Enforcement Center.
Responsibilities
- Accurately process and review gun permits
- Conduct annual reviews on Permits to Carry
- Answer non-emergency phone calls
- Prepare reports for the Finance Department
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Three years of increasingly responsible general clerical experience
Qualifications
A good knowledge of general office methods and equipment and of the functions and procedures of the department are essential. Skill in communicating with others is often important in positions in this class.
Skills
- Knowledge of modern office procedures, practices, and equipment
- Arithmetic computations
- Compiling data and preparing reports
- Composing correspondence requiring the application of a knowledge of methods, procedures, policies, and other information
- Decision-making in accordance with laws and departmental policies and procedures
- Microsoft Word and Excel computer programs
Benefits
Winona County offers a starting salary of $25.06/hour (DOQ) with potential advancement up to $32.92/hour.
