Aalyria is a leading technology company that supplies laser communications technology and temporospatial software-defined networking platforms to the aerospace industry. We are committed to innovation and excellence and are seeking a dynamic individual with extensive program management experience within the US Government (USG) to join our team.

Responsibilities

  • Program Leadership: Lead and oversee multiple projects concurrently, ensuring alignment with company goals, vision, and strategic objectives. Provide strategic guidance, clear direction, and effective communication to cross-functional teams.
  • USG Expertise: Utilize your comprehensive understanding of USG processes, regulations, and compliance requirements to navigate the unique challenges associated with government contracts and partnerships. In-depth understanding of acquisition process and life cycle management of the program.
  • Transition to Production: Experience in managing programs that have transitioned from prototype to production volumes. Leading teams to improve TRL/MRL of program
  • Security Clearance Management: Maintain an active security clearance and assist the team in adhering to security protocols, safeguarding sensitive information, and ensuring compliance with relevant security regulations.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including government agencies, to establish and nurture strong working relationships. Serve as the primary point of contact for USG-related matters.
  • Budget and Resource Management: Develop, monitor, and manage program budgets, resource allocation, and timelines. Ensure efficient allocation of resources to meet project objectives within scope and budget constraints.
  • Proposal Development: Assist in the development of FFP, T&M and CPFF proposals for various government agencies and provide program management inputs.
  • Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate project risks and issues. Proactively address challenges to minimize potential impact on project outcomes.
  • Performance Metrics: Define and track objectives and key responsibilities (OKRs) to measure program success, monitor progress, and report on project status to senior leadership and stakeholders.
  • Continuous Improvement: Drive process improvements and best practices by leveraging lessons learned and industry standards. Implement feedback loops to enhance program efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Team Development: Assist the Director of Global Public Sector in fostering a collaborative and high-performing team culture. Provide mentorship and guidance to team members, encouraging their professional growth and development.

Requirements

  • An active Top Secret clearance is required for this position. Candidates must also be eligible for access to Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI).
  • Program Management Experience: 5+ years of demonstrated success in leading and delivering complex programs, preferably for USG customers within the space and/or network communications product industries. Managing both hardware and software as a service model.
  • Schedule Management: Experience building and managing schedules, tracking content deliverables, developing project management plans, conducting PMRs, and presenting in front of customers.
  • USG Expertise: In-depth knowledge of USG processes, acquisition, regulations, and compliance requirements.
  • Contracts Knowledge: Possess an understanding of general USG contract terminology, FAR/DFARS, and be familiar with FFP, T&M and cost type contracts awarded through BAAs, sole-source, IDIQs and OTAs.
  • Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and inspire cross-functional teams, hold self and others accountable, and drive them towards successful project outcomes.
  • Strategic Thinker: Strong analytical and strategic thinking capabilities with the ability to translate vision into actionable plans.
  • Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Problem Solver: Effective at identifying challenges, developing solutions, and making informed decisions in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Budget Management: Experience managing program budgets, resource allocation, and financial tracking.
  • Adaptability: Thrives in a rapidly changing startup environment, displaying flexibility and resilience.
  • Technical Expertise: Experience with network communications, cloud solutions, and SaaS is highly desirable.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field is highly desired or equivalent work experience; a technical degree and/or advanced degree is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally as required for program execution.

Pay and Schedule

This position involves access to export-controlled information. To comply with U.S. government export regulations, applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

  • Qualify as a U.S. person, which includes:
  • - U.S. citizen or national
  • - U.S. lawful permanent resident (green card holder)
  • - Refugee under 8 U.S.C. 1157
  • - Asylee under 8 U.S.C. 1158
  • - Be eligible to access export-controlled information without requiring an export authorization.
  • - Be eligible and reasonably likely to obtain the necessary export authorization from the appropriate U.S. government agency.

The pay range for this role is: 140,000 - 190,000 USD per year (Hybrid (Livermore, California, US)).
