Cleanroom Sanitation Technician

About the role

This is a large, well-known manufacturer that makes glass fiber used in internet and phone networks. The Wilmington plant runs around the clock, and this role supports a clean, controlled production area.

Skills

• Cleanroom cleaning in a controlled production area
• Industrial sanitation with floor scrubbers, vacuums, and pressure washers
• Mixing and handling cleaning chemicals safely

Responsibilities

• Build and keep up daily, weekly, and monthly cleaning schedules for production areas, equipment, and support spaces
• Plan cleaning around production so the line keeps running, and adjust when production or maintenance needs change
• Do routine and deep cleaning of floors, walls, and high-touch areas on the production floor
• Mix and apply cleaning chemicals by following set sanitation steps
• Run floor scrubbers, vacuums, pressure washers, and other industrial cleaning tools
• Check the containment areas set up on the production floor and report problems to maintenance
• Fill out cleaning logs, checklists, and digital records, and show your work during audits
• Report safety hazards, equipment problems, or anything that is not right
• Work with production, maintenance, quality, and the outside cleaning company on regular, emergency, and special event cleaning
• Help train new team members on cleaning steps and safety

Requirements

• Experience cleaning a cleanroom or other controlled production area
• Able to work rotating or fixed shifts in a 24/7 plant, including nights, weekends, or holidays
• Able to lift, push, or pull up to 50 lbs and stay on your feet for long periods
• Comfortable following PPE, chemical safety, and lockout/tagout rules
• Basic computer skills to fill out digital logs and check schedules
• Sanitation or housekeeping experience in a manufacturing plant
• Experience in a GMP, OSHA, or ISO regulated facility
• Experience building cleaning schedules or coordinating with an outside cleaning vendor
• Experience training new cleaning team members
