Cleaner -Part Time

Responsibilities

• Sweep, mop, and wash floors and other surfaces inside buildings.
• Operate light and heavy (commercial type) floor buffers and shampoo machines, including attachments.
• Vacuum rugs in offices and public areas.
• Spot clean rugs daily and shampoo when directed.
• Clean and dust furniture, exhibit cases, pictures, chairs, door trim, light fixtures, and all other horizontal surfaces, including periodic high dusting.
• Wash windowsills and glass in interior doors, partitions, and specified windows.
• Wash glass and trim at entrance doors (interior/exterior) and spot‑clean interior walls as appropriate daily.
• Clean bathrooms and restock paper supplies daily; duties include damp‑wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, servicing soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tile walls, shelves, stall partitions, and sweeping/mopping/scrubbing floors.
• Monitor for defects such as clogged urinals or lights out and report to supervisors.
• Collect building trash daily, place it in approved containers, and move to the designated collection area for removal.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers per specifications.
• Sweep or shovel snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting walkways/sidewalks as directed.
• Perform periodic work such as high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and wall washing.
• Carry out any other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• No previous experience required for basic cleaning responsibilities.
• Ability to take direction, work with minimal supervision, and function cooperatively as part of a team.
• Ability to use cleaning tools and equipment, including a portable back‑pack style vacuum cleaner.
• Requires attention to detail, pride in delivering excellent service, organization, and high levels of energy and endurance.

Pay

The compensation for this position is $14.00–$15.00 per hour. The company will not pay less than minimum wage for this role.
