Cleaner - Lake Denoon Middle School

About the Role

Performs a wide variety of scheduled and non-scheduled cleaning tasks by following written or oral instructions from the lead custodian. Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Responsibilities

• High and low dusting as needed, including dust mopping and wet mopping floors.
• Cleans and disinfects bathrooms, shower rooms, and other assigned rooms.
• Washes and cleans walls and windows as necessary.
• Collects and discards waste in designated areas.
• Replenishes paper towels, hand soap, and toilet tissue as necessary.
• Performs set-ups as directed by the lead custodian.
• Locks and secures all School District property and buildings.
• Assists other custodial personnel with tasks requiring more than one person.
• Notifies lead custodian of any unsafe conditions.
• Attends in-service training as directed by the supervisor.
• Adheres to all work and safety policies.
• Performs other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with coworkers, teaching staff, students, administrators, vendors, and supervisors.
• Dependable work record and positive work attitude.
• Aptitude to utilize district technology, including Microsoft, email, work orders, phones, and integration software.
• Willingness to complete ongoing training.
• Ability to read and interpret reports, calendars, and documents, or any combination of education and experience that provides equivalent knowledge, skills, and abilities.

Qualifications

• Must be capable of continuously standing, walking, stair climbing, reaching, handling, and gripping without difficulty.
• Must be capable of frequent bending, stooping, pushing, or pulling heavy objects, lifting and carrying objects weighing up to 80 pounds.
• Must be capable of working at heights over 30 feet.
• Must remain free of alcohol or illegal substances in the workplace.
• Must serve as a positive role model for students.
