Classroom Technology Specialist
Education Services Support
Provide support for teaching and learning technologies, including lecture halls, labs, smart rooms, and videoconferencing applications. Responsible for supporting faculty and staff in starting the audio/video technology in instructional and conference spaces, using lecture microphones, and loading presentations. Troubleshoot audio/video technical issues, provide preventative maintenance and repairs, load, reload and update software, and ensure effective issue resolution for students, faculty, staff, and vendors.
Desktop Support
Provide support and resolve escalated issues from the Help Desk involving classroom technology, workstations, software, endpoint security, and administrative systems. Troubleshoot hardware, OS, application, and network-adjacent issues impacting academic and administrative operations. Assist with deployment and maintenance of specialized software and equipment used. Support hardware lifecycle processes, including planning, imaging, asset tracking, and warranty coordination. Work closely with other IT teams to resolve multi-layered issues. Provide clear, responsive communication to faculty, staff, and students, respecting the unique pace and priorities of academic work. Document solutions and create knowledge base articles.
Technology Training
Support leadership in enhancing teaching, learning, and technology across the university by developing support strategies and materials for students, faculty, and staff. Collaborate with IT staff to create and deliver training on the operation and uses of desktop and instructional technologies for effective application in education.
Qualifications
- Vocational or technical school, associate degree, or experience equivalent to: audio/video, distance education technologies, information technology; or a minimum of 2 years of experience as a technology support and/or production person in an academic technology service environment.
- Experience in supporting desktop or audio/video technology in a professional setting.
- Proficient in Microsoft 365 Suite.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in a technology field, or a minimum of 4 years of experience as a technology support and/or production person in an academic technology service environment.
- Experience with information technology privacy, compliance, and/or risk management matters.

Physical Requirements
Must be able to utilize a phone, computer, and other office equipment. Part of this role requires physical travel to university spaces to assist faculty, staff, and students with technology.
Starting Salary Range
$42,391 – $50,162, commensurate with experience.
