About the role
Collaborates with the classroom team to assist the Special Education Teacher in implementing effective academic and social-emotional programming for assigned students.
Responsibilities
- Formulates and implements social-emotional and behavioral programming consistent with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
- Aids in activities of daily living for students, including toileting and self-care.
- Collects and manages data on students' social-emotional and behavioral functioning.
- Presents verbal and/or written reports on students' social-emotional and behavioral functioning.
- Supports the academic curriculum as directed by the classroom teacher and team leader.
- Prepares and submits required paperwork for the student record.
- Attends and participates in classroom team meetings and other student-related meetings.
- Participates in supervisory sessions, staff meetings, or other meetings as assigned.
- Observes and adheres to Bradley Schools policies, rules, and regulations.
- Performs other duties as required, assigned, or directed.
Qualifications
- Baccalaureate Degree preferred in education or related human service fields.
- Basic knowledge of data entry/management programs such as Excel.
- Bradley Hospital Safety Care Certification.
- Prior experience working with children is helpful.
