About the role

Collaborates with the classroom team to assist the Special Education Teacher in implementing effective academic and social-emotional programming for assigned students.

Responsibilities

  • Formulates and implements social-emotional and behavioral programming consistent with students’ Individualized Education Programs (IEPs).
  • Aids in activities of daily living for students, including toileting and self-care.
  • Collects and manages data on students' social-emotional and behavioral functioning.
  • Presents verbal and/or written reports on students' social-emotional and behavioral functioning.
  • Supports the academic curriculum as directed by the classroom teacher and team leader.
  • Prepares and submits required paperwork for the student record.
  • Attends and participates in classroom team meetings and other student-related meetings.
  • Participates in supervisory sessions, staff meetings, or other meetings as assigned.
  • Observes and adheres to Bradley Schools policies, rules, and regulations.
  • Performs other duties as required, assigned, or directed.

Qualifications

  • Baccalaureate Degree preferred in education or related human service fields.
  • Basic knowledge of data entry/management programs such as Excel.
  • Bradley Hospital Safety Care Certification.
  • Prior experience working with children is helpful.
