Classroom Assistant II PT - Highly Qualified (Title I School)

Role Overview

The "Walk to Read" Literacy Aide supports structured, school-wide reading interventions for students in grades K–6. This role is crucial in helping students build foundational literacy skills and achieve reading confidence.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver structured literacy interventions to individual students or small groups.
• Partner with classroom teachers and specialists to track student progress and implement reading strategies.

Qualifications

• Prior experience working with children.
• Knowledge of the Science of Reading principles is highly preferred.
• Strong collaborative spirit and interpersonal skills.
• Applicant must be highly qualified. This would include one of the following:
  • Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college/university; or
  • 48 semester hours from an accredited college/university; or
  • Pass the ParaPro Assessment.

Pay

• Lane 1 Step 1 ($17.88/Hour) – Not Highly Qualified
• Lane 2 Step 1 ($18.88/Hour) – Associate's degree or 48 semester hours from an accredited college/university
• Lane 3 Step 1 ($19.94/Hour) – Current/Former Licensed Teacher (Highly Qualified Information)
