School holidays are plentiful and are included in your salary (paid days off!). This is a 10-month position with the option to work ESY; Hours are 8am-3pm (35 hour work week).
Job Requirements
The Classroom Assistant shall:
- Possess 60 college credits from an accredited post-secondary institution OR hold Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited post-secondary institution (preferred)
- Demonstrate excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills and the ability to motivate and instruct students
- Showcase expertise and experience in using 21st Century based/Web 2.0 technology tools and protocols
The Classroom Aide Shall Have:
- A High School Diploma
- Demonstrate excellent leadership, organizational and communication skills and the ability to motivate and instruct students
- Showcase expertise and experience in using 21st Century based/Web 2.0 technology tools and protocols
Job Description
The Classroom Assistant and Aide at Yale School assumes the professional responsibility for providing supervision of assigned students in a safe, supportive and positive classroom climate that develops in each student the skills, attitudes, and knowledge to meet and exceed the approved curricula and directives of the school. Achieving academic excellence requires that the Classroom Assistant work collaboratively with other members of the school staff and with parents. In addition, the Classroom Assistant and Aide will strive to meet the highly effective criteria for the implementation of a School Wide Positive Behavior Support system and the recording of daily behavioral data and addressing the needs of diverse learners through classroom environment, leadership, and professionalism.
