Classroom Aide

Part-time position working 28 hours per week, providing flexible support throughout the Head Start Birth-5 Center. Duties vary daily and may include classroom assistance, playground supervision, food preparation, or custodial tasks to ensure smooth center operations.

Responsibilities

• Assist in classrooms, on the playground, or in other center areas as needed.
• Support positive interactions with infants, toddlers, and preschool children ages 6 weeks to 5 years.
• Maintain effective communication with children and families.
• Adhere to Head Start Performance Standards, Indiana Day Care Licensing Regulations, CACFP Guidelines, and Head Start Birth-5 Forms and Procedures Manual.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent required; experience with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool children preferred.
• Obtain a Child Development Associate Credential (CDA) within one year of hire (on-the-job training may be provided).
• Must meet Head Start and Indiana Childcare Licensing Regulations, including:
• Head Start Standards of Conduct.
• Federal and state criminal history requirements.
• Sex offender registry checks.
• Drug screening, physical, and annual T.B. test.
