Job Summary
The Archdiocese of St. Louis seeks a Classroom Aide to support teachers and students at St. Peter Catholic School in Kirkwood, Missouri. The ideal candidate is committed to Catholic education and enjoys collaborative work.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the classroom teacher with daily instructional and classroom management activities.
- Provide support to individual students and small groups during lessons and learning activities.
- Prepare instructional materials, classroom resources, and learning centers.
- Supervise students during classroom activities, transitions, lunch, recess, and other assigned times.
- Maintain a safe, organized, and welcoming classroom environment.
- Support student engagement, positive behavior, and social-emotional development.
- Aid with clerical tasks such as copying, filing, organizing materials, and record keeping.
- Collaborate with teachers and staff to support student learning and school initiatives.
- Participate in school activities and duties as assigned.
- Uphold and support the mission, values, and teachings of the Catholic Church and St. Peter Catholic School.
Job Qualifications
- A high school diploma or equivalent is required, with an associate degree or college coursework in education preferred.
- Previous experience working with children in a school, childcare, or related setting is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills are essential.
- Ability to work effectively with students, teachers, parents, and staff is required.
- Demonstrated organizational skills and attention to detail are necessary.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism is important.
- A positive attitude, flexibility, and willingness to work as part of a team are valued.
- Practicing Catholic is preferred, but all candidates must respect and support the mission and values of Catholic education.
