Part-time position (.475 FTE) with a work calendar of 195 days per year. Starting pay at $16.85/hour.
Responsibilities
- Perform general food service, food preparation, and food service sanitation according to Arizona State health code regulations.
- Prepare meals from standardized recipes, including cold and cooked salads, gelatins, salad dressings, beverages, and basic cooking (e.g., hamburgers, chicken patties).
- Set up and replenish serving lines; serve students and faculty in a friendly manner.
- Maintain cleanliness in the trash collection area, dining area, and kitchen equipment (e.g., pots, pans, utensils).
- Operate kitchen machines (mixers, blenders, ovens, slicers) and cash registers.
- Handle cashiering duties, including accountability for reimbursable meals, à la carte items, and daily deposits.
- Order food service supplies as needed.
- Assist with special meal occasions and catering.
- Comply with safety rules, National School Lunch Program regulations, and OSHA requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of student, staff, and school information.
- Provide a welcoming atmosphere for students, staff, parents, and the community.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Must obtain a County Certification for food handler within 30 days of employment (renewed every 3 years).
- Must have and maintain a valid IVP Arizona Fingerprint Clearance Card.
- Must be 21 years of age or older upon hire.
- Mathematical ability to work with monies and operate cash registers.
- Friendly and respectful communication with students and staff.
- Ability to read and write simple instructions.
- General knowledge of office machines and computers.
Physical Demands
- Lift and carry materials/packages up to 30 pounds.
- Stand or walk for long periods.
- Use hands to handle, control, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
- Bend or twist the body.
- Push, pull, or move boxes and materials.
Working Conditions
- Perform multiple tasks and prioritize functions in constantly changing conditions.
- Comply with safety rules and OSHA requirements.
- May be exposed to odors, dust, poor ventilation, heat, workspace restrictions, and loud noises.
