Class Teacher (Maternity Cover)
St Thomas a Becket C of E Primary School is seeking to appoint a committed and highly motivated Class Teacher to join their team. As a member of staff within EQUA Mead Learning Trust, you will contribute to a collaborative working environment and play a key role in supporting the learning and development of all pupils.
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons that follow the school curriculum and meet the needs of all learners.
- Create high-quality learning resources and accurately assess pupil progress, using assessment information to support achievement and development.
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet individual needs, including those of pupils with SEND, while maintaining high expectations for behaviour and academic success.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and stimulating learning environment that promotes children's self-esteem, independence, and wellbeing.
- Work collaboratively with teaching assistants, colleagues, parents, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for pupils.
- Contribute to the wider life of the school, including school improvement initiatives and professional development.
- Safeguard and promote the welfare of children, maintaining effective behaviour management and ensuring a safe learning environment.
- Uphold the Trust’s values, policies, and standards of professional conduct.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (essential).
- Evidence of recent training and experience in whole school leadership and management (desirable).
About the role
The working hours for this role are 0.8 FTE (full-time equivalent), equating to approximately 32 hours per week over 52.143 weeks per year. The start date for this role is 02 November 2026. This is a part-time, fixed-term contract focused on Key Stage 2.
Pay
£32,916 - £51,048 per annum pro rata (£26,332 - £40,838 per annum actual salary for 0.8 FTE).
