Class B Roll Off Garbage Truck Driver

Interstate Waste Services is now hiring CDL B Roll Off Truck Drivers in Rockaway, NJ. Safety is our top priority.

Responsibilities

• To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
• Drivers are responsible for safely operating front, side, or rear-loading trucks for the pick-up service of bags or containers filled with waste or recyclable material.
• Drivers transport the material to a disposal, transfer, or recycling facility, and may make one or more trips throughout the shift.

• The driver position may be required to repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds, move and maneuver up to 100 pounds, as well as mount and dismount the truck multiple times every route.
• We deploy both manual and automatic trucks. The driver position may be required to perform highly skilled backing maneuvers.
• Driver pre and post-inspections required. Drivers are responsible for ensuring their truck is in compliance with IWS's safety standards as well as OSHA and DOT regulations, and local traffic laws, prior to and while operating the vehicle.

Requirements and Qualifications

• 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL Airbrake endorsement.
• 1-year CDL driving experience in the last 7 years.
• Great safety record and clean MVR.
• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak and read English to converse with the general public, understand highway traffic and signals, respond to official questions, and make legible entries on reports and records.
• Read and understand a map.
• Meet physical and safety requirements of the position.
• Willing and able to work required work hours as allowed under DOT regulation and may include weekend, night, and/or holiday work.
• Routes may require drivers to navigate through congested communities and confined or tight areas in city locations.

Pay

Hourly pay rate: $31.27

Salary Range: Minimum USD $31.27/Hr. Salary Range: Maximum USD $31.27/Hr.

Schedule

Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday hours.
