Class B Front Load Driver

About the role

Drivers safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks to collect waste or recyclable material, transport it to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, and may make multiple trips per shift. The role involves lifting up to 50 pounds, maneuvering up to 100 pounds, and frequently mounting and dismounting the truck. Routes may require navigating congested or confined areas, performing skilled backing maneuvers, and adhering to pre- and post-trip inspection requirements.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate front, side, or rear-loading trucks for waste or recyclable material collection.
• Transport material to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities, making one or more trips per shift.
• Perform pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure compliance with IWS safety standards, OSHA, DOT regulations, and local traffic laws.
• Navigate congested or confined areas, including tight city locations, and execute skilled backing maneuvers.
• Repeatedly lift up to 50 pounds and maneuver up to 100 pounds.
• Mount and dismount the truck multiple times per route.
• Converse with the public, understand traffic signals, and complete legible reports and records.
• Read and interpret maps to follow assigned routes.

Requirements

• 21 years of age and legally eligible to work in the United States.
• Valid Class A or B CDL with Airbrake endorsement.
• 1 year of CDL driving experience within the last 7 years.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) and strong safety record.
• Experience as a driver or helper for a refuse company is highly preferred.
• Working knowledge of DOT, OSHA, and applicable traffic regulations.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English to interact with the public, understand traffic signals, and complete reports.
• Meet physical and safety requirements of the position, including lifting and maneuvering heavy loads.
• Willingness to work required hours, including occasional weekends, nights, or holidays as allowed under DOT regulations.

Pay

$26.35/hour.

Schedule

• Monday through Friday with occasional Saturday hours.
• Early start time (4:00 AM).
• Year-round, steady work.
