About the Role
This position will primarily work on making sample pickups, receiving shipments of supplies and samples, maintaining accurate receiving records, and performing simple shipping tasks.
Responsibilities
- Drive a flatbed truck to perform sample pickups and drop-offs as a Class B driver.
- Prepare packaging for outgoing shipments while ensuring proper protection of goods.
- Ensure receiving records are complete and accurate.
- Maintain receiving records for company supplies and forward necessary paperwork to the accounting department.
- Perform accurate data entry.
- Load and unload pallets of supplies with a forklift.
- Deliver incoming shipments to the proper departments.
- Perform local delivery and pickup as needed.
- Assist with the monthly inventory supplies count.
- Perform general shipping, receiving, and warehousing functions as needed.
- Serve as backup to the Shipper/Receiver.
- Use correct methods in accordance with established procedures and schedules while ensuring analytical quality.
- Observe established safety regulations and comply with all ALS health and safety policies and procedures.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and thoroughly.
- Ability to work within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
- Good understanding of computer applications.
- Good English communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Ability to work within a team environment.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Certificate or diploma in logistics and transportation is preferred.
- Class B driver license with a clean driving record.
- Forklift license and experience operating a forklift is an asset.
- Previous shipping/receiving experience preferred.
- Excellent safety record.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
- Extensive walking or movement, bending, kneeling, and working with machines.
- Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods throughout the shift.
- Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks throughout the shift.
- Ability to sit at a desk and perform general office work, including periodic sedentary responsibilities.
Eligibility
To be eligible to work at ALS, you must be a Citizen or Permanent Resident of the country you are applying for, or hold or be able to obtain a valid working visa.
