Class B Driver ( Retail Services)

About the role

Clean Harbors in Avon, NY is seeking a Class B Driver (Retail Technician) to provide comprehensive environmental services including collection and disposal of damaged, discarded, or recalled products; recycling of light bulbs, oil, oil filters, engine fluids and other materials; and on‑site cleanup activities. Clean Harbors will pay for your CDL‑B training. The company is the leading provider of environmental, energy and industrial services throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
• Pick up, pack and transport damaged and discarded goods, and recalled products.
• Load, pack and segregate materials and waste products, including inventory that is damaged or expired.
• Drive a box truck to retail customer sites, interacting with customers at each stop.
• Prepare DOT shipping documents and use a laptop, printer, handheld device, and iPhone to complete tasks.
• Execute jobs at Clean Harbors customer locations, including Fortune 500 companies, in accordance with OSHA, EPA, DOT, and company policies.
• Finalize preparation and approval of all projects before shipment, ensuring compliance with disposal restrictions and special packaging requirements.
• Verify drum counts and condition for shipment according to company policies.
• Follow all local, state, provincial and federal compliance regulations.
• Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT and other regulatory requirements.
• Observe all corporate operating guidelines, environmental health and safety procedures, and perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license (required).
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to use a laptop, handheld device, printer, and iPhone.
• Eligibility to obtain a CDL Class B with hazmat and tanker endorsement within 6 months of hire (company‑paid).
• Ability to perform physical functions required by the job.
• Compliance with OSHA respiratory protection facial hair standards.
• Preferred: previous commercial driving experience.
• Preferred: previous route experience.
• Preferred: previous manual labor experience.

Pay

Recruiting pay range: $25.00 – $27.00 per hour.
