About the role
The warehouse driver is responsible for driving various East Bay Tire vehicles while delivering goods and products to customers, clients, and accounts. You will make deliveries and pick up inventory as needed.
Responsibilities
- Active participation in East Bay Tire's Safety program to maintain a healthy and injury free environment
- Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth
- Drives commercial truck to deliver tires to customers as well as other East Bay Tire locations
- Performs initial vehicle inspection at the beginning of each shift
- Unloads different types and sizes of tires at delivery site
- Collections money from customers on COD accounts
- Records delivery information on pick tickets
- Informs regular customers of new tires available when questioned
- Listens to and resolves service complaints
- Collects or picks up rejected tires or unsold merchandise
- Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery
- Responsible for routine vehicle presentation/cleanliness
- Work on special projects and perform other tasks as needed
- Adherence to company and safety policies and procedures
Requirements
- Must have at least 2 years' experience working as a commercial or warehouse driver and have a valid Class B license
- Experience working in a warehouse as a technician or driver preferred
- Experience delivering parts or products to customers
- Experience working in the tire industry preferred but not required
- Bilingual in Spanish preferred but not required.
- Must have a strong commitment to achieving goals with a teamwork mentality
- Must have great communication/interpersonal skills
- Must be motivated with a good business sense and understanding
- Must have good decision-making/judgment skills
- Must be extremely organized and detail-oriented
- Must be a team player, with the initiative and ability to do what it takes to get the job done
- Computer skills with a variety of programs, including Excel, Outlook, and various other computer systems
- Must have a class A or B valid driver's license and a clean driving record
- Must be a self-starter, be willing to take initiative and be willing to work without direct supervision
- Must be able to lift a minimum of 50 pounds as required for the job
- Ability to meet deadlines, multi-task, and work independently on tight deadlines with multiple priorities

Physical and/or Mental Demands
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to:
- Work in an environment where there can be medium to loud noise
- Routinely use computer equipment, including monitors, keyboards, etc.
- Frequently sit and stand to perform work, visit locations, load and unload trucks, use hand trucks, lift tires and parts, pack boxes, or put materials together
- Adherence to safety protocols and policies while using proper PPE is a must
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds
- Work flexible/varying schedule to support the team, customers, and deadlines
Location
This position will work out of our Fairfield location.
