Starting pay: $29.92/hour. After 90 days, pay increases to $30.42/hour.
Responsibilities
- Pick up dead hogs, cattle, and meat scraps from farm sites on a daily route and return to Blue Earth, MN.
- Collect and inspect products at pickup for any foreign material at customer locations.
- Maintain an Electronic DOT log.
- Operate vehicle in accordance with Company, federal, state, and local regulations.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections; observe company policy, procedures, and safety rules.
- Maintain excellent customer relations by providing quality, professional service at all times.
- Complete all company-required paperwork in accordance with company policies on a daily basis.
- Attend all safety meetings; may be asked to serve on the Safety Committee.
- Perform all other duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Must be 21 years of age.
- Valid Class B driver’s license.
- Able to handle outside elements year-round.
Preferred Qualifications
- Class A driver’s license.
- Prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment.
- Ability to work well with internal staff and external customers.
- Basic arithmetic skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers).
Physical Demands
- Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
- Occasionally lifts up to 75 lbs.
- Occasionally loads deadstock and/or bins with assistance from a winch on the vehicle.
- Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.
Work Environment
Job functions are carried out in a commercial motor vehicle, at customer locations, and in a plant environment.
Pay
$29.92/hour starting pay. After 90 days, pay increases to $30.42/hour.
Schedule
- Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (route days).
- Wednesday (clean-up day or other tasks).
- Flexible start time: 6:00 AM.
- Work hours per day: 10–11 hours.
