Class B CDL Route Driver

Starting pay: $29.92/hour. After 90 days, pay increases to $30.42/hour.

Responsibilities

• Pick up dead hogs, cattle, and meat scraps from farm sites on a daily route and return to Blue Earth, MN.
• Collect and inspect products at pickup for any foreign material at customer locations.
• Maintain an Electronic DOT log.
• Operate vehicle in accordance with Company, federal, state, and local regulations.
• Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections; observe company policy, procedures, and safety rules.
• Maintain excellent customer relations by providing quality, professional service at all times.
• Complete all company-required paperwork in accordance with company policies on a daily basis.
• Attend all safety meetings; may be asked to serve on the Safety Committee.
• Perform all other duties as assigned by management.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be 21 years of age.
• Valid Class B driver’s license.
• Able to handle outside elements year-round.

Preferred Qualifications

• Class A driver’s license.
• Prior route experience within a customer-oriented environment.
• Ability to work well with internal staff and external customers.
• Basic arithmetic skills (add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers).

Physical Demands

• Frequently required to walk, stand, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crawl, and crouch.
• Occasionally lifts up to 75 lbs.
• Occasionally loads deadstock and/or bins with assistance from a winch on the vehicle.
• Regularly required to reach with hands and arms.

Work Environment

Job functions are carried out in a commercial motor vehicle, at customer locations, and in a plant environment.

$29.92/hour starting pay. After 90 days, pay increases to $30.42/hour.

Schedule

• Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday (route days).
• Wednesday (clean-up day or other tasks).
• Flexible start time: 6:00 AM.
• Work hours per day: 10–11 hours.
