Responsibilities

• Drive delivery vehicles and/or operate truck-trailer combinations to transport and deliver materials to customer sites.
• Adhere to driver safety/compliance regulations.
• Deliver un-damaged goods on schedule.
• Provide professional service to customers.
• Load or assist with loading and appropriately secure product, materials, or supplies inside delivery vehicle.
• Unload materials safely and accurately.
• Verify order details and maintain logs of delivery duties including amounts and/or weights of items, mileage and locations of deliveries.
• Check items against invoice to ensure order accuracy.
• Act as a customer service liaison between the company and the site customer.
• Handle customer concerns and help resolve issues as they arise.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of delivery vehicles.
• Perform routine safety checks to ensure vehicles comply with company guidelines.
• Use hand-held devices to ensure compliance with DVIR and HOS.
• Maintain hours of service logs and pre/post trip inspection procedures.
• Perform credit/product return pick-ups and related paperwork.
• Operate a Forklift or non-motorized material handling equipment to load and off-load materials to designated areas.
• Understand and observe all safety procedures and practices in order to prevent injury to self or co-workers.
• Attend periodic safety meetings as required.
• May recommend changes to improve safety procedures.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1 year of delivery driving experience
• Valid driver’s license Class B CDL license
• Obtain a DOT medical card within five (5) days of a request
• Less than 5 moving violations in the last 5 years
• Basic math & measurement skills
• Ability to read and speak the English language

Physical Activity

• Lift and carry up to 100 pounds frequently
• May be required to lift and carry, with assistance, up to 200 pounds
• Perform specific tasks that involve climbing, lifting, pushing or kneeling
• Physically operate delivery vehicles (climb up and down into cab, twist torso for 360-degree visibility, use arms to operate controls, etc.)
