Class A Yard Jockey/Dock Worker (6am to 4pm) **3k Sign-On Bonus!**
Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated Yard Jockey/Dock Worker to join our team in Sturtevant, WI. This hybrid position combines traditional yard jockey responsibilities with dock and warehouse support duties.
What will your job involve?
- Move trailers and other equipment around the yard using a yard truck
- Move trailers back and forth between plant and off-site storage facility
- Ensure that trailers are properly positioned for loading and unloading
- Perform daily safety checks on yard truck and report any issues to management
- Assist with loading and unloading of trailers
- Maintain a clean and organized yard
- Communicate with other yard personnel and management to ensure efficient operations
- Operate vehicles in a safe manner (straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long)
- Heavy lifting!
What are we looking for?
- Class A license with a clean driving record and valid medical card
- Willingness to work full time hours, approx. 45 hours a week
- Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
- 3 years of driving experience with tractor trailers and/or straight trucks
- A flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
- Experience operating vehicles in a safe manner (straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long)
- Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, roadside inspections
- Confident in a road check level 1 through level 3
- Proven longevity in past employment
