Class A PGA Golf Instructor

Description

Position Purpose: Assist in supervision of the daily golf operations, mainly focusing on tournament operations for the Grand Geneva. To ensure guest satisfaction by overseeing and providing prompt personal service to guests.

Essential Functions

• Assist golf staff to ensure the delivery of resorts high guest service standards.
• Communication with the onsite golf event sales team.
• Prepare event format sheets, cart signage, course signage, and event scoring.
• Determine event winners.
• Prepare and deliver results to the onsite event planner.
• Aid in all event setup, preparation and break down.
• Maintain golf course and weather conditions through Weather Sentry and DTN Weather computers.
• Assist cart attendants and pro shop staff.
• Perform minor club repair and club fitting.
• Operate and oversee staff use of, GPS system, Fore Reservation Tee Time system, and WSGA Handicap system.
• Play golf with members and clients.
• Represent the resort in assistant's events.
• Be responsive to guest's requests by communicating their needs to appropriate departments in a prompt and courteous manner.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements

• Some golf operations experience, phone skills, and retail skills are preferred.
• No license or certification is required for this job.
• Excellent organization, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to effectively deal with internal and external customers, some of whom will require high levels of patience, tact and diplomacy to defuse anger and collect accurate information and resolve conflicts.
• Basic mathematical and calculator skills to prepare mathematical calculations without error.
• Ability to listen effectively, to speak and write English clearly.
• Ability to access and accurately input information using a moderately complex computer system.
• Requires high contact with all types of guests or clients.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule including days, nights, weekends and holidays.

Reporting Relationship

This position reports to the Director of Golf.
