About the role
The Four Seasons Resort Lāna’i is seeking a PGA Lead Golf Instructor who can inspire and lead others in delivering exceptional golf instruction and enhancing guest experiences.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the Director of Golf, Head Professional, Golf Course Superintendent, and Golf Professional team to support overall golf operations.
- Oversee and maintain golf teaching facilities to ensure exceptional service standards.
- Ensure the quality and effectiveness of all instructional programs.
- Develop and implement promotional initiatives to increase participation in instructional programs.
- Maximize revenue from golf instruction through strategic program management and customer engagement.
- Act as a role model for all Associates by demonstrating the behavior and work ethic expected of all golf course employees.
- Provide feedback and explanation(s) regarding the financial performance of the Manele Golf Instruction Program on a regular basis.
- Golf Instruction Co-ordinate the golf instruction and player development programming.
- Train golf professionals on golf instruction, teaching philosophies and the operations of programs to include clinics, schools, juniors, group, private lessons, player development, and special population lessons.
- Utilize state-of-the-art teaching and learning theories and be able to integrate the use of teaching aids, videotape, launch monitors, etc. when appropriate in all programs.
- Maintain teaching aids and equipment inventory in excellent condition.
- Create additional opportunities to increase top-line revenue.
- Develop a Culture utilizing the most up-to-date golf instruction philosophies and techniques.
- Attend meetings as requested by the management team; i.e., Resort Manager, Director of Golf, Head Professional.
- Represent the facility in community service to create a positive relationship with media (TV-radio-newspapers) and local business.
- Will teach/Instruction 3 days a week.
- Group Play/ Daily Ops Lead or assist in execution of all golf outings, tournaments and FAM events.
- Assist the Head Professional and 1st Assistant Golf Professional as needed in all areas and duties assigned.
- Will have duties in the operation 2-3 days a week and as needed.
- Create instructional programs to enhance service and maintain interest and enthusiasm among all customer segments.
- Aid in marketing and promotion for instruction programming.
- Create player development programs (Player Development defined as increase activity) to foster a recreational, fun and, where appropriate, a competitive environment.
- Maintain regular, open contact with both supervisors and staff to ensure teamwork and consistency in teaching programs.
- Exhibit a warm, welcoming personality that will make staff and customers feel comfortable.
Requirements
- Maintain PGA of America membership in good standing and mentor apprentices through the PGA Professional Golf Management (PGM) program.
- Have an expert level of knowledge of the game of golf, rules of golf, golf instruction, and teaching methodology.
- Have knowledge and experience using TRACKMAN.

What to bring
- Successful candidate must possess legal work authorization in United States.
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift up to 50 lbs, and push/pull as needed during shifts.
- Weekend and Holiday availability required.
- Registered in the PGA Apprentice Program in good standing.
- Valid Driver's License.
