Hepaco, a Clean Harbors company in Ladson/Charleston, SC, is seeking a Class A CDL Driver to operate a variety of heavy and light-duty trucks and work equipment at customer sites, including vacuum trucks, Cuscos, guzzlers, and roll-offs. This role involves driving and non-driving duties associated with hazardous waste clean-up.
About the Role
- Travel, on-call, and emergency response may be required.
- All new hires must attend a two-week training academy; travel expenses are paid by the company, and per diem is provided.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Health and Safety is the number one priority by complying with all safe work practices, policies, and processes.
- Operate commercial trucks and assist field laborers when needed in a team atmosphere.
- Operate a variety of Class A trucks, including loading and unloading.
- Perform manual labor on-site to fulfill customer needs.
- Proper placarding of vehicles to meet Company and DOT requirements/regulations.
- Maintain daily logs, time sheets, and various reports.
- Follow all local, state (provincial), and federal compliance regulations and rules.
- Safely operate vehicles in accordance with U.S. DOT, local, state (provincial), and federal requirements.
- Observe all corporate operating guidelines and procedures, including environmental health and safety.
- Perform other duties as assigned, including emergency response on a rotating basis every other week.
- Site-remediation, equipment decontamination, and handling of hazardous materials.
Requirements
- Valid Class A CDL.
- Ability to operate a manual transmission.
- Hazmat and Tanker endorsement.
- Ability to use various mobile devices.
- Perform physical functions per job requirements.
- Per OSHA's Respiratory Protection Standard, 29 CFR 1910.34, employees in positions requiring respirators must meet facial hair standards.
Preferred Qualifications
- Commercial driver experience.
- Previous Hazmat experience.
- Previous manual labor experience.
Pay
Hourly range: $25.00 - $28.00.
