About the role

As a CDL‑A driver, you are responsible for driving a tractor‑trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate routes, including local, over‑the‑road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight deliveries. You will deliver and unload food and food‑related products to customers safely and on time, complying with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and interact professionally with customers, vendors, and co‑workers.

Responsibilities

• Perform pre‑ and post‑trip safety checks and inspections of tractor, truck, and trailer per DOT regulations and company standards.
• Report safety issues, hazards, and required repairs promptly.
• Inspect trailers to ensure freight is properly loaded and secured; conduct count checks and verify customer invoices.
• Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
• Attach pre‑loaded trailers, drive predetermined routes, and deliver orders according to schedule.
• Unload products, transport items to designated customer storage areas, and obtain proper signatures.
• Collect cash or checks when required and load customer returns onto the trailer.
• Secure tractor, trailer, and freight; perform damage control checks and report issues.
• Maintain daily hours‑of‑service records in compliance with federal, state, and company regulations.
• Perform general housekeeping of the tractor, loading dock, and trailers, keeping them clean and clear.
• Secure all equipment and complete end‑of‑shift paperwork.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Valid CDL‑A license meeting all state licensing and certification requirements.
• Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
• Pass a road test.
• Current DOT health card or ability to obtain one.
• Ability to hand‑lift and operate two‑wheeler, lift gate, or other equipment to move product cases ranging from 10‑35 lb up to 60‑90 lb.

Pay

Starting pay is $27.00 per hour.

Schedule

Monday – Friday, weekends off. Dispatch begins at 4:30 am, resulting in a 4–5‑day work week.
