Class A Driver - Boise

About the role
As a Class A CDL Driver for UNFI, you will support the Boise Distribution Center by delivering palletized products to corporate and independent retail stores. You will perform pre- and post-trip inspections of your vehicle, ensure safe and effective loading and handling, deliver and unload products, review paperwork for completeness and accuracy, verify orders, correct addresses, complete time cards, enter trip data into the on-board computer, and complete paper logs if necessary.
Responsibilities
- Deliver and unload products utilizing equipment, including a tractor-trailer, ramps, lift gates, pallet jacks, load bars, and other devices which assist delivery
- Operate vehicle safely within UNFI guidelines to minimize accidents, traffic violations, and public complaints
- Report any accident immediately to the Transportation Manager/Department
- Maintain vehicles in safe, secure condition; report defects promptly using DCVR form
- Pick up supplies and back hauls from vendors while completing related paperwork
- Address and resolve customer problems as appropriate
- Ensure customer orders arrive in quality condition and correspond precisely to the initial order
Requirements
- Current Commercial Driver’s License, Class A
- Ability to pass a road test
- Must be 21 years of age
- Basic knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT) law and mandates
- Understanding of UNFI’s safety standards
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Solid understanding of shipping and receiving functions
- Good time management skills
- Good judgment, as direct supervision may not always be available
Qualifications
- Minimum of one year verified experience operating a tractor trailer (preferred)

UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual pay will depend on factors including education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements.
