Schedule

  • 5-day work week, Monday through Saturday (no Sundays)
  • Days off vary; must be flexible
  • Dispatch range: 12 AM to 5 AM
  • 10-hour shifts on average
  • All ramp work
  • Possibility of team routes or overnight layovers on certain routes

About the Role

Food and food service delivery drivers fulfill a critical role in the country's food supply chain. Our delivery drivers ensure customers' products arrive at their destination on time and in good condition while serving as the face of our company and building lasting customer relationships.

The CDL-A Driver is responsible for driving a tractor trailer or straight truck on intrastate and interstate local, over-the-road (OTR), shuttle, and overnight and drive-and-drop routes to deliver and/or unload food and food-related products to customers safely and on time, in accordance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. Drivers communicate professionally with customers, vendors, and co-workers, answer questions accurately, and perform duties as a team member to best serve the company.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all required safety checks (pre/post trip), including inspections of tractor/truck and trailer according to DOT regulations and company safety standards.
  • Report all safety issues and/or required repairs.
  • Follow all DOT regulations and company safe driving guidelines and policies; immediately report any safety hazards.
  • Inspect trailer for properly loaded and secured freight; perform count checks and verify customer invoices.
  • Complete all required paperwork accurately and legibly.
  • Move tractor to loading dock and attach preloaded trailer as needed.
  • Ensure tractor, trailer, and freight are appropriately locked and/or secured at all times.
  • Unload damaged goods and customer returns; bring to driver check-in and complete necessary paperwork at end of shift.
  • Unload equipment and materials, and remove trash from trailers as required.
  • Comply with daily record-keeping and hours of service requirements, adhering to DOT, state, and company policies.
  • Uphold safety standards and follow guidelines for proper freight handling throughout the delivery process.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (or equivalent experience).
  • Must be 21+ years of age.
  • Valid CDL-A license.
  • 12 months of commercial driving experience.
  • Meet all state licensing and/or certification requirements (where applicable).
  • Clean motor vehicle report (MVR) for the past 3 years.
  • Pass post-offer drug test and criminal background check.
  • Pass road test.
  • Valid/current DOT health card or ability to secure one.
  • Able to hand-lift and use equipment (e.g., two-wheeler, lift gate) to move and/or stack product cases/freight of varying size and weight (10–90 pounds) throughout shift.
