Class A CDL Driver Lead/Medical Waste Containers (5AM)

About the role
We are seeking an enthusiastic, customer-focused Driver Lead with a Class A license and experience driving large trucks to utilize your experience across the Salt Lake City, UT area. This role will help establish and lead a team of drivers in our new Salt Lake City location, offering a high degree of autonomy, stable hours, access to overtime, and good benefits. Our vehicle fleet is modern and well-maintained, and we provide above-standard PPE for safe handling of medical waste.
Responsibilities
- Help establish and lead a team of drivers in our new Salt Lake City location
- Assist the Transport Supervisor with daily operations and oversight of the driving team
- Train new drivers
- Safely collect, deliver, and store medical waste containers at customer locations
- Provide strong customer service and build positive customer relationships
- Operate vehicles safely (straight trucks and tractor trailers as large as 26 and 53 feet long)
- Complete deliveries on schedule and communicate changes or challenges as they arise
- Load and unload, prioritize, and organize your truck per schedule and needs
- Manage a route per leadership direction to deliver timely, efficient, and effective service
- Comply with DOT regulations, log hours, and handle roadside inspections
- Perform heavy lifting
Requirements
- Class A license with a clean driving record and valid medical card
- Hazmat endorsement or willingness to obtain it
- Willingness to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week)
- Experience with pre-trip and post-trip vehicle evaluations
- 3 years of driving experience with tractor trailers and/or straight trucks
- Registered with DACH
- Flexible, can-do attitude with a strong customer focus
- Experience with DOT compliance, logging hours, and roadside inspections
- Confidence in handling roadside checks (level 1 through level 3)
- Proven longevity in past employment
- Strong on-time delivery practices

Pay
