About the Role

Safe operation of a TADC with a 53’ dry van. New equipment, state-of-the-art technology, and 80% drop and hook. Home daily.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a TAS with 53’ dry van in accordance with Corrugated Logistics policies and procedures, and comply with all federal, state, and local regulations for the secure and safe operation of a commercial motor vehicle (CMV).
• Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of assigned equipment as prescribed by the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and the company.
• Inspect tractor and trailer for defects during and after trips; submit a written report on the condition of the equipment at the end of each trip.
• Safely operate tractor-trailer equipment in various configurations, weights, and under all types of climatic conditions, terrain, road conditions, and traffic situations in urban and rural settings for extended periods and long distances.
• Drop, hook, spot, switch, and interchange equipment, including hooking/unhooking trailers, pushing, pulling, placing, lifting, and attaching/detaching converter gear, as well as raising/lowering landing gear on semi-trailers.
• Ensure all required shipping documentation accompanies deliveries and verify it against load information provided by dispatch; note any overages, shortages, damage, or intact seals in writing.
• Properly secure or re-secure cargo as required.
• Maintain frequent communication with Dispatch/Operations via PeopleNet, phone, or in person to report stops, movements, equipment issues, cargo status, or delays.
• Report all accidents, incidents, or moving violations involving company equipment or personal vehicles; provide initial contact with public safety, law enforcement, or the general public when necessary.
• Maintain an electronic driver’s log in accordance with FMCSA and Corrugated Logistics requirements; monitor hours of service and report discrepancies or potential violations immediately.
• Complete all necessary paperwork, including inspection reports, manifests, bills of lading, trip pay reports, fuel/mileage reports, accident reports, and other records required by law or company policy.
• Perform roadside inspections as required by law, regulations, and company policy.
• Work in adverse weather conditions without environmental controls, subject to ambient conditions.
• Perform duties in a timely manner to meet service schedules and maintain adequate production.
• Communicate professionally with all individuals encountered as a company representative.
