About the role
Driver Hire Carlisle is recruiting for multiple HGV Class 2 (CAT C) drivers on a temp‑to‑perm basis with an established client in the Carlisle area. The role offers the possibility of a permanent position after 12 weeks, involves delivering bedroom furniture to residential and commercial premises (including hand‑balling), and requires representing both the client and Driver Hire Carlisle professionally. Immediate starts are available.
Responsibilities
- Deliver bedroom furniture to residential and commercial premises
- Perform hand‑balling (manual handling) of furniture
- Carry out daily vehicle checks
- Represent the client and Driver Hire Carlisle professionally
Requirements
- Full UK driving licence with Category C (Class 2) entitlement
- Minimum 1 year of HGV driving experience
- Valid Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
- Strong understanding of site safety and procedures
- Reliable, punctual, and professional attitude
Pay
£16.00 – £21.00 per hour (PAYE). Overtime is paid after 8 hours.
Schedule
Shifts run Monday‑Friday, starting at 06:00 AM, with an average length of 10‑12 hours.
