About the role
The CLAMP TRUCK DRIVER operates and cares for the clamp truck under the supervision of the CORRUGATOR SUPERVISOR. Starting pay rate is $20 per hour.
Responsibilities
- Takes rolls of paper to the corrugator and records all rolls taken on proper forms.
- Learns to read corrugator lineups.
- Unloads rolls from trailers and/or rail cars, checks for and notes any physical damage to the rolls.
- Operates the clamp truck in a safe manner, completes clamp truck inspection report at the start of each shift, and turns in maintenance work orders for needed repairs.
- Keeps the warehouse organized and clean, turns in roll stock tallies to the corrugator supervisor or Scheduling Department.
- Makes recommendations for optimizing the daily production schedule to meet cost, quality, delivery, and service goals.
- Affixes additional duties as directed by management.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Prior work experience in the corrugated industry preferred.
- Prior industrial power truck or heavy equipment operating experience preferred.
Qualifications
- Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
- Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
- Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurements, volumes, and rates.
- Able to apply concepts of high school math.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
- Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
- A working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities, product layouts and production specifications, product quality specifications, and quality standards.
