Clamp Truck Driver

Description

Smurfit Westrock is hiring Clamp Truck Drivers at its Aurora Location. The position operates on a 3rd shift schedule from 10:50 PM to 7 AM, with potential for overtime or weekend work. The starting wage range is $23.70/hr with an increase to $28.74/hr after probation. Additional incentives include shift differentials and company-paid life insurance.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Pulling paper rolls from the warehouse and supplying them to the corrugator as needed.
• Keeping track of butt rolls.
• Assuring proper size and grade of paper is brought to the machine.
• Affirming proper footage is brought to the machine.
• Mixing all starch for the Corrugator, maintaining tank levels throughout the workweek.
• Checking the viscosity and gel temperature after each batch.
• Preparing borax for each batch and adding carrier starch at the proper time.
• Ensuring the starch area is kept clean.
• Following Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Complying with safety guidelines and rules provided by the company.
• Operating Clamp Truck and Forklift safely.
• Understanding and reading scheduling sheets and tape measures.
• Maintaining good attendance.
• Being available for overtime and weekends or other shifts.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Previous experience preferred.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Safety and operational proficiency with Clamp Truck and Forklift.
• Ability to read and understand scheduling sheets and tape measures.
• Good attendance record.
• Availability for overtime and weekends or other shifts.

Qualifications

• Ability to interact courteously, tactfully, and patiently with colleagues and management.
• Ability to pass a drug screening after receiving a conditional job offer.
