Clamp Truck and Digital Machine Operator 1st Shift 4a-4p

Responsibilities

• Take rolls of paper to the digital printer and record all rolls on the proper forms.
• Learn to read lineups and mark buttrolls with size, diameter, lineal footage, and grade before returning to stock.
• Unload rolls from trailers, inspect for physical damage, and note any issues.
• Scan rolls to location and use Mill wide for consumption and roll stock receipts.
• Operate the clamp truck safely and complete inspection reports at the start of each shift.
• Submit maintenance work orders for needed repairs and keep the warehouse organized and clean.
• Turn in roll stock tallies to the Supervisor or Scheduling Department.
• Maximize equipment utilization by operating machinery at available capacity and speed.
• Adhere to the daily production schedule and make recommendations for optimization.
• Assist the operator as instructed by supervision.
• Read related MSDS and learn proper emergency response for chemical spills or skin contact.
• Comply with all company policies and procedures, including safety and housekeeping.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Minimum high school diploma or GED.
• Prior work experience in the packaging industry preferred.
• 6 months of experience in a manufacturing operation preferred.

Skills

• Able to read, write, and speak in English and follow instructions.
• Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
• Able to calculate figures such as percentages, measurements, volume, and rate.
• Ability to apply high school math concepts.
• Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or graphic form.
• Ability to deal with problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Working knowledge of equipment design, product layouts, production specifications, and quality standards.
