Claims Workers Comp Summer Internship – Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)

About the Role

Selective Insurance is seeking a Claims Intern to join the Workers Compensation team at our regional office in Charlotte, NC. This 11-week, full-time program offers hands-on experience in claims evaluation and processing, with opportunities to develop problem-solving skills and gain insights into the claims process. Interns will work on meaningful assignments, participate in team projects, and engage with senior leadership.

Responsibilities

• Shadow and work with adjusters to perform administrative duties including issuing payments and completing administrative tasks
• Participate in special projects such as continuous improvement strategies
• Support Claims professionals with large account management
• Assist in automating the department's weekly scorecard, tracking Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), and reporting results to various teams

Qualifications

• Must be a current college student
• Demonstrate an interest in learning about the insurance industry
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills
• Proficient with Microsoft Office, specifically Word and Excel
• High School Diploma required
• Ideal candidates will be full-time undergraduate college Juniors or Seniors
