Responsibilities
- Review, investigate, evaluate, negotiate and settle assigned claims involving multi-line insurance coverage that do not require field investigation.
- Determine whether the loss is covered and if our client member is liable.
- Determine the value of lost property and assist in setting reasonable reserves.
- Prepare detailed and organized running notes, written reports and documentation in accordance with established procedures.
- Maintain a service-oriented attitude at all times by maintaining professional and productive relationships with coworkers, supervisors, agents, agency managers, claimants, policyholders, doctors, attorneys, and others.
Requirements
- A high school diploma or equivalent plus 1+ years of relevant experience.
- An associates degree or equivalent preferred.
- Insurance experience (specifically claims or underwriting experience) is preferred.
- An agriculture background/knowledge is helpful.
- Exercise independent judgment and arrive at decisions through sound, logical reasoning in order to handle more complex claims.
- Exceptional customer service skills, including strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Excellent phone skills required as approximately 50% of time will be spent on the phone.
- A high attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
- Advanced computer skills are required in order to quickly learn our multiple systems.
- Progress towards industry education is expected (AIC, CPCU, AEI programs, etc.).
Qualifications
- Ability to work 8am-4:30pm Monday through Friday from our office in Manhattan, KS.
- After 90 days of employment, a hybrid work arrangement of 2 work from home days is allowed.
