Claims Consultant - Oklahoma Physicians & Surgeons
About the role
We review medical malpractice policies to confirm coverage. We manage professional liability claims and suits brought against policyholders. We interpret, analyze, and resolve coverage issues. We select legal counsel. We manage the litigation with outside counsel. We manage litigation costs, both fees and expenses. We post reserves for both loss and ALE. We resolve cases, via settlement, dismissal or trial. We negotiate. We provide service to insureds, assist where possible in sales and retention efforts of sales force. We perform other activities required of a front line claims person.

Requirements
- A minimum of five years of claim experience, preferably medical malpractice, professional liability or other liability claims
- Negotiation/Mediation experience
- JD (preferred) or Bachelor's degree along with pertinent industry experience
- Adjuster's license (or ability to obtain within 90 days) may be required

Strong negotiation and mediation skills. Proficiency in interpreting and analyzing coverage issues. Ability to manage litigation effectively. Knowledge of medical malpractice and professional liability claims. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Pay
The annual gross base salary range is $85,000 to $150,000. Actual salaries will vary and are based on factors such as a candidate’s qualifications, skills and competencies.
Schedule
Full-time position.
