Claims Consultant - Florida Physicians & Surgeons

About the role

We confirm coverage and manage claims and suits brought against policyholders. We interpret, analyze, and resolve coverage issues. We select legal counsel and manage litigation with outside counsel. We manage litigation costs, including fees and expenses. We post reserves for both loss and ALE. We resolve cases through settlement, dismissal, or trial. We negotiate and provide service to insureds, assisting in sales and retention efforts.

Requirements

• J.D. (preferred), but will consider a Bachelor's degree if the candidate possesses other, pertinent industry experience
• Minimum of five years of claim experience and/or litigation experience, preferably healthcare liability or other professional liability claims
• Strong negotiating skills
• Adjuster's license (or ability to obtain within 90 days) may be required

Qualifications

Preference will be given to candidates with a J.D., but a Bachelor's degree with relevant industry experience will also be considered. Five years of claim experience and/or litigation experience, preferably in healthcare liability or other professional liability claims, is required. Strong negotiating skills are essential.

Pay

The annual gross base salary range is $80,000 to $150,000. Actual salaries will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skills, and competencies.
