About the role

Responsibilities

  • Handle all aspects of multi-line, financial lines claims from inception through conclusion brought against insureds.
  • Make coverage determinations, investigate losses, evaluate, and project potential exposures, set judgmental reserves, develop and implement resolution strategies, manage outside law firms, work with underwriting on policy renewals, and promote client relationships.
  • Communicate regularly with internal and external stakeholders in your role as a Errors & Omissions claims expert and thought leader.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in Claims by supporting Quality Assurance / Regional Audit processes, ensuring mitigation of indemnity and expense exposure while communicating developments and outcomes as necessary to all key internal and external stakeholders.

Requirements

  • Experience handling third-party claims, litigation or other related experience.
  • Knowledge of legal / regulatory and litigation / procedural requirements for professional liability and/or construction claims.
  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent required. Multi-state adjuster licenses and/or JD preferred.
  • Experience in negotiation, mediation, arbitration and ADR skills on higher value complex claims.
  • Policy language skills enabling accurate and consistent policy wording interpretation.
  • A track record of following up effectively on recommendations from technical claims audits and continuous file handling improvement.
  • The ability to influence claims and non-claims stakeholders by effectively directing claims strategy.

Pay

The base salary range for this position is $82,000-$103,000 and the position is eligible for a bonus in accordance with the terms of the applicable incentive plan.
